Journalist :)
Hey from this
weeks´ journalist, James, and as such, I’ll let you know about the task, and
how the prickles carried it out!
As always,
we were informed on what the task was going to be this week on Monday, our
first day back from the Easter holidays. I think she took this into account
when deciding that we should go over everything we worked on before the holidays
in the form a short 2 minute animated video.
Then the
class got to work:
On the
second hour of class on Monday, we started thinking about how we were going to
create this video (what website to use, what content to include, and so on),
and made the decision to stay and have lunch at the university on Tuesday so we
could complete the task that afternoon.
So after
lunch on Tuesday, we started working. We decided to use Powtoon to create our
video. The editing and creation of the actual video was mostly done by Juan,
although Mar spent most of the afternoon assisting him. The rest of us had
other jobs like coming up with ideas for the video, thinking and looking for
information to include, offering advice and making sure everything went as
quickly and smoothly as possible.
These
photos show how Juan and Mar are always directly involved in the video, and the
rest of us are busy either with other aspects of the project or offering assistance on
our animated piece of work:
We finished
after a few hours of work, and making sure everyone was perfect for the
presentation the following day.
On
Wednesday, each group took turns to present our videos, and trying to cause the
best reaction from our classmates. We were told by Linda to rate each other’s videos
and prepare for a ranking we would do after every video had been shown.
We then did
a kind of voting activity similar to Eurovision, where each group was appointed
a certain number of points depending on how good each group thought each
other’s project was.
Here is a
photo of us evaluating the other groups and elaborating our ranking which would
later be read aloud to the class.
We think we
did well and ended up half way up the overall ranking, which could be better,
but we’re still happy with it.
Anyway, I
hope this helped you all get inside our little world and understand the process
behind this task. Thank you for reading, and until next time!!!
