TASK 3: BEING JOURNALIST OR LOOKING LIKE A PAPARAZZI?

Hey guys! It’s me again, Paula, from The Prickles group.  This week I have been the journalist, and first of all, I have to say that I have enjoyed a lot this role ! Much  more than being curator or translator (My last roles). I’m going to explain you the work process of this week. So… Here I go!

As the last weeks, on Sunday night, our teacher Linda uploaded the document of our next task: Telling Stories: Free Resources& visual presentations. On Monday, the teacher explained us the task and after that, she gave us some free time to organize our ideas and distribute the roles.

To distribute the roles inside the group fairly, we wrote the name of us in some pieces of paper and we took them randomly. Here you have a photo of this process, which was just the beginning of the work of this week!

In the second hour of Monday, we had to organize the work, so we started to think how, where and when do the tasks, because we had just two days to prepare it! Some members of the group asked Linda some doubts about it, while others were thinking about the topic of the second slideshow.

As we have done in other tasks, we decided to do it on Tuesday after lunch, so we ate something quick at University and we went to the desk of the faculty as usually.

We started to work very hard. As we got 3 PC’s we divided the task like this: The 2 stars, the facilitator and the 2 without role started to prepare the second slideshow for which we took this topic: the vertebrates. While the rest of the group was working on the best tips to make a good visual presentation and trying to explain what  creative commons Licence was.

Although there were 3 PC’s, we used made a schema  in  paper to get some concepts clear and for not wasting time while the members were using the computers(one of them for searching images, the second of them for searching information and the last for the presentation). Here you have a picture of it:
When we finished the work, we went home and the stars began to prepare their exposition! And the nerves started to be more clear...

On Wednesday, we were the last group in presenting our task.Because the week before , we were the first group. Félix and James did it well; at least, that was what we thought… But after the expositions, Linda told us that that wasn’t what she expected, so she gave us another opportunity.
ANOTHER DAY WORKING!! L
So, we adapted the slideshow and all the group gave advises and ideas to the stars for making a dynamic exposition.
Our second presentation was way better. Our classmates told us that they enjoyed it a lot more. That was very gratifying.
People often say that second chances aren't good, we have proved that they are wrong.

As a journalist, I have commented in Tutti-fruttis blog because I really loved their story! Here you have a screenshot of the comment I left:

Finally, here you have the video of the exposition of our stars!

That’s all for this week!! Hope you enjoy my post as much as me. I must be honest, maybe it is not our best week, or our best task but it’s going to be our year! See you next week. HAVE A NICE WEEKEND :)
